Hi, I’m Maura.

I am a New York City–based writer, filmmaker, and producer creating stories that champion and empower women, nonbinary, and marginalized voices through bold collaborations and inventive storytelling.

Since 2024, I have co-produced the Cannes Cellphone Cinematography Festival with Karoly Bardosh, NYU professor and award-winning director, celebrating innovative work made with emerging technologies.

I am a proud member of The Actor’s Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit, The Lambs, and New York Women in Film and Television.

My documentary Maura and Maggie Get Callbacks to Play Themselves—a story about two women in their sixties reinventing themselves as artists in New York City—was an official selection at both the Cinequest International Film Festival in San Jose, California, and the SoHo International Film Festival in New York City. At Cinequest, the film received the Kaiser Permanente Thrive Award for Most Inspirational Film of the Festival, and it continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.

In 2025, I was invited as a juror and masterclass presenter at the 16th Annual Bridges International Film Festival in Corinth, Greece, where Maura and Maggie will also be screened.

I wrote, produced, and directed The Non-Essentials, an award-winning COVID-era feature about ordinary people coping when the world came to a halt—culminating in the shared moment of unity as the world watched George Floyd’s murder on television. Filmed remotely across seven U.S. states, The Non-Essentials has been honored at several independent film festivals for its originality and emotional truth.

My newest project, White Orchid, a noir-inspired psychological thriller set between Thailand and New Jersey, has also won multiple awards and is currently being developed for international
